Measuring your bed before placing your order is a simple step that ensures your Softopper® will be a perfect match for your vehicle. Step by step instructions
1. Gather your Tools
- Measuring tape: a flexible measuring tape that can reach the full length of your bed
- Notebook and pen: to record your measurements
2. prepare your truck bed
- Clear the bed: Remove any cargo, tools or accessories from the truck bed
- Ensure the tailgate is closed: the tailgate should be fully closed and latched.
3. take the measurement
- Locate the front of the bed: Stand at the back of your truck, facing the cab. The front of the bed is the wall that separates the cab from the truck bed.
- Measure from the inside: Place the end of your measuring tape at the top against the inside of the front wall of the truck bed.
- Extend to the tailgate: Carefully extend the measuring tape from the front or bulkhead of the truck bed until it reaches the inside of the tailgate.
- Read and record: Read the measurement at the point where the tape touches the inside of the tailgate. Record this measurement in inches. This is the length of your truck bed.

- Measure twice: it’s always a good idea to double-check your measurement to ensure accuracy.
- Measure at the top: Make sure you are taking your measurement from the top of the inside of the front wall to the top of the inside of the tailgate. Taking measurements along the bottom of the bed will skew your measurement.
