Got mine during the lock down so the family could go camping. It's been great for that, and everything else since it's been on the truck. I've driven thru blizzards, high winds, rainstorms, even a small hail storm. No leaks, no tears, no problems. I did have the see thru rear panel at 1st. Was fine, but it did crack in the cold weather. Ordered a solid back panel replacement. It arrived early, took maybe 5 mins to put on, and has been problem free since. Def recommended this product if looking for an alternative to a hard top. Cheaper, and more versatile. Obviously it's not as secure as a hardtop, but you'll have to weigh that out for yourself. Overall a very solid product, and something I would order again.

Extremely disappointed with this company's ability to fill an order. Ordered a common size 4 weeks ago, with the understanding that it takes 2-3 weeks for an order to be fulfilled. I just called and was told it would be at least another 4 weeks+ to be recieved. I purchased this with the plans of using it for a trip and will now not have it in time. Should have purchased a competitors product, which I would have recieved in time.

Poor stitching.I can see through the stitching inside to outside of the vehicle. Front of top is not constructed well to easy retract the top.

I ordered my softopper Aug 2nd and still have nothing, it is now Sept 8th. I called 3 times, 2 people said it's ready to ship and I'll receive tracking info in a day or 2. 3 rd person now says we don't have your order and will PROBABLY be another 3 weeks! No offer to ship overnight or anything. Horrible workers that don't know what's going on. Wish I could buy something similar elsewhere!!

Took roughly a month and a half to arrive. Understandable given that they’re made to order.Digging it thus far. Install is easy though there is a bit of fitting to make sure everything folds, unfolds, and positions as needed. Nothing I didn’t expect and nothing you can’t do in hour or two with minimal tools….I believe the clamps needed a 14mm socket/wrench to tighten, that’s it. Initially putting the topper over the frame takes some muscle, so probably wouldn’t hurt to have a helping hand, though it can be done alone. Left the the topper up for a few days to stretch out and it’s notably easier to snap down now.I LOVE the functionality of this and that’s probably what caught your attention as well. Wanted a topper for the truck for camping purposes, but didn’t want the grandpa-look that comes along with toppers. It only takes a few minutes of zippers and Velcro to raise or lower the topper. Best part? I still have something that looks and functions like an actual truck with it down. Not to mention little to no gas-mileage penalty with it down. My Ecoboosted F150 lost about 100 miles of range with the top up, not unsubstantial, especially if you’re not actively in need of a bed cover. It even takes only a minute to fully remove the top itself, leaving only the bed rails if you really want to clean up the look of the truck. Removed you can store this anywhere, regardless of your living situation, try that with a hard-shell topper…..Security could be an issue given the only thing keeping the rear door closed is Velcro, zippers, and snaps. It’s also a soft top, so a thief could just cut it as well. That’s the main drawback to this, but it’s inherent in the materials and not a reflection on the quality of the item. This is so far worth every penny.If you want a topper that you don’t have to fiddle with, is secure against theft (or even big predators), and don’t need a fully functional truck bed a hard topper is still likely your best option.However, if you want maximum versatility out of your truck, and still keep the appearance of a traditional truck, this is the best thing I’ve found. Definitely recommend

Absolutely HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They don't send a single update on what's going on with your order. Our order was delayed past the time they said it would be here, so they gave us a new delivery date and we weren't going to be living at the address listed anymore. So I call the warehouse and the guy on the phone confirms they can hold it for us and we can pick it up there, AND THEN THEY SHIP IT ANYWAY. There's been times I've called the shop DURING OFFICE HOURS and you get a voice message saying to call back during office hours, hmmm last I checked I am calling during office hours?

Terrible service. Don’t even bother spending money here if you require any customer service. I ordered a spare panel for my topper, paid the money (200$) and still two months later haven’t received it, but received the rest of my order. They basically robbed me, not to mention they’re impossible to get ahold of, and if you do, don’t expect it to go anywhere.

I was prepared to wait a few weeks. Need to call? Do so right when they open. Was easy to install and took me about 1 and a half hours. I read the instructions and then used the video for a step by step guide. Looks good and appears to be of good quality. Will see how it holds up on my first trip towing my Gladiator with my RV.

I have had my soft tupper for a few years you years now And it's one of the best things I've ever bought started out as for my wife's pick up And then when we sold hers and I put it on my pickup and it's on there right now I use it every day If it protects everything that I put in there I have had only one glitch If one of my tension straps has failed me And I need to get a new one,also the clip that holds the metal bar has broken, I have had the salt chopper for about 14 years now and it is still in very good shape no tears or rips in the fabric one bit and the zippers and the snaps are in Exxon condition

Ordered a replacement window, just a replacement window, and its been over 2 months without shipment. Sent an email to their customer support on July 18th asking for any update. No response. Sent follow up ask on July 26th, and they literally just responded on August 16th with a generic response saying to just call them. When you call them, they give you a line about parts coming on a truck in a few weeks. Don't waste your time with this company.

Bought the topper a year ago Just took a 2000 mile trip to Colorado. Topper performed perfectly. No problems. Rained every day no leaks. We loved our trip rock hunting and fishing. I completely recommend the Soft Topper

Spent just under a $1,000 on one of these soft tops and in return received a soft top with no hardware to install. Attempted reaching out to customer service everyday for weeks and they never answered my phone calls or emails. Strongly recommend anyone looking into purchasing from this company to look elsewhere

6-month report: Install was a breeze. Across country twice in all manner of weather, this surprised me for its water-tight performance. Get better mileage too! Absolutely no complaints! Would buy again in a heartbeat!2nd UPDATE: 5-stars for a surprise delivery of my soft topper today, 2-weeks before they said they’d ship. I’m overjoyed but it would be nice to know it was coming as a complete shipment. Even FedEx said was it was only one pkg. Bottom line: they are working their customer service! I’d rather they promise late and deliver early, than the opposite. Thanks Soft Topper! Now for the install…UPDATE: Raised rating to 3-stars after Softtopper finally emailed me yesterday 14-days after placing my order to alert about the back order. New ship date is week of 6/29. Guess they are slammed! Regardless, corporate communications need help: if you are going to order, then expect to pay now & receive the gear in the future, date tbd. I’m sure looking forward to getting the topper, sleeper add-on & boot cover. May add stars to their rating.ORIGINAL: Would love to give a glowing review but after 10-days, all I have show is an $1,100 credit card charge. A FedEx label was generated the same day as the order, but since then, no shipments, just crickets… If it’s a back order issue, then just let the customer know, for Pete’s sake! Calls, emails as yet NOT acknowledged. If you guys can auto-change my credit card, then you can code order updates as well?14-month UPDATE: still water tight & smart as the day I installed. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. No longer receiving any customer service assistance. Only response i get is computer generated email.I bought a top for my 2013 F150. Very good quality product. At the same time ordered the storage bag. I still have not recieved it. After I got the top and saw how good the quality was, I ordered the tent on may 22. As of today it still has not shipped. That is over six weeks.The product is great, but the service is why it's only 3 stars.Order from someone else if you are planning to use it this season.

The topper is great and super easy to put together, feels durable, and I couldn't be happier with it,Was hoping to do local pick up to save on shipping, but couldn't get a response via email or phone, so i just ordered because the product speaks for itself. I got an email saying order confirmed and to expect 2-3 weeks wait, but it arrived a week later to my door, and an email saying it was ready to ship arrived 10 minutes after the topper itself but no tracking info.So basically the product is great, but whatever shipping/communication system they use is not, you just kind of get it when you get it. but you'll be happy when you do

Love the topper. It did take about two months to arrive… I can fold it down and load my motorcycle, fold it up for the dog, or whatever else I need to keep dry. It really was easy to install and it’s easy to adjust to the various styles of use. Probably buying the tent cover too since my bed is short. I’ve always had hard toppers but don’t want to trailer the bike. This is way more versatile. Also, the grey was darker than expected, which I’m really happy with on a black truck.

I'm very disappointed in this company. I was very excited to purchase one of there toppers. I ordered on line paid in full .For over a month iv called iv sent emails with not one response. at this point I just want my money back. If its on back order they could at lest let me know. What kind of company operates like this :( worst costumer service i have ever seen.

We got the topper very quickly, 2 weeks to Hawaii! Two plastic pieces were missing, an email later, I heard back from customer service and they sent the replacements Fed-Ex overnight, which for Hawaii is 4 days. We got the pieces, put them on and the topper is perfect. It looks great, too. Very pleased with this company.

My soft topper is awesome but their customer support is horrible. I ordered my topper and cover bag about 3 months ago and it took about a month to receive my topper (very acceptable amount of time), but I never received my cover bag but was billed for it. Over two months I’ve call and left three voicemail (even called during their business hours) and have emailed them 3 times and have gotten zero response. I’m very disappointed in there customer support! It’s good company policy to let customers know if their product is back ordered, lost, ect. No one should be left in the dark wondering if they will ever receive what they paid for. Product quality A+ and customer service gets a F.Follow up: softtopper apologized and responded to my emails and notified me that the cover bag was out of stock and will ship in a few weeks. Since they have responded, I’ve up thier star rating since they have a bomb proof product. Just plan for long delays on orders.

My topper arrived in less than a week. The quality is fantastic and install took about 45 minutes. The canvas can be snapped on initially by one person but it is much easier with a second set of hands. Very happy with my purchase!

Installed my new SOFTOPPER today! I'm still adjusting here and there, but I am satisfied so far. The default install is nice and tight (maybe too tight?). It folds up, down, and snaps in AOK. Probably going to install the screw-in snaps inside the bed under the rear window tomorrow... I have a factory spray on bed liner and the velcro won't adhere to it. Overall, very pleased!

Based on several previous reviews, I kind of expected a slow turnaround to receive my topper after I placed my order. That's understandable given the time it now takes to get most products during these challenging times. It didn't bother me that it took close to two months after I placed the order to get my topper. Know this when ordering. I guess the company could have called or sent an email of the status of my order, but I understand they are busy. I am still waiting for my boot cover to arrive. They also sent me the wrong clamps, but luckily I had clamps from a previous topper that I just swapped out the correct half to mount the rails.The topper is very well built and fits my 2016 Silveradowith a long box very well. The materials are high quality. The sound equipment I plan on putting in the bed should stay clean and dry. The grey fabric goes well with the truck's white finish. I love the idea that it is completely removable in a manner of minutes and it is lightweight.Probably one of the best features we're the installation instructions. Perhaps they are the best instructions I have ever received for a product. I know the company has installation videos but I didn't need them. Instructions are very detailed and spot on. Nice job to the writer 👏. Overall, I'm very happy with my Softopper and would recommend buying their products. Just expect to wait after you place your order.

I'm inquiring from Vancouver Canada, and a lady with an asian accent answered my call. I asked about a soft top for a Jeep Gladiator and half the time she couldn't even answer any of my questions. I was asking for a local distributor in Canada but she couldn't give me any answers. She then put me on hold for 15mins, then hung up on me. Very unprofessional and gives the company such a bad reputation when you have someone answering phones who don't know anything about proper customer service.

Worked great for a total of 2 camping trips. I’ve had it for a few months and somehow the front window (cab side) has just deteriorated with holes in it even though it’s not exposed to the elements. Some small leaks at the seams fixed with the sealer but come on. Make the whole thing durable it’s a bit absurd that the non-exposed portion falls apart like a wet paper bag.

Bought a used softopper that was a couple years old in good shape. Very easy to install on vehicle and the fit and finish is great. You do need to use the screws at the front of the truck or else the front will flap. Once added the screws no more flapping. Just got done with a 1500 mile trip to Moab and slept in back of the truck several nights. Really am happy with this purchase and the versatility of this top.

I got the stopper for my (^ Ford Bronco to shed weight for racing. We podiumed the 2022 NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally, racing off-road more than 1,400 miles from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas, Baja MX. Just don't. Don't buy this product. I should have looked at the reviews before I purchased from them. They don't tell you anything about shipping dates until you've purchased. Then, after they so willingly take your money, they send an email saying your order is shipped and to allow 2-3 weeks for it to be shipped. You WILL NOT get it in 2-3 weeks. Don't waste your time. And you will not get in contact with customer service. Either through the phone or through email. This would be better if they were up front with their customers about shipping times and back orders etc. Take your money to their competitors and have your soft shell within a week and you'll also be able to get in contact with a representative. I am reaching out to my bank and reporting this as fraud. I have not received the product, you took my money and you will not contact me.

When you order you will receive message stating shipping in 2-3 weeks.When week 3 comes along you can call and email them....they will not answer the phone, they will not call you back, you will get no response(except an auto response email saying we will get ahold of you in a week...LOL)...save your money and get something else... and by the way....they will bill you immediately even though you have no idea of when you are really getting what you paid almost one thousand dollars for...maybe a great product...i have no idea...cant get an answer on when it coming....

I bought a Softopper for my '77 Ramcharger. I got tired of lifting the hard top off and on and wanted something that I could leave on when it rains but remove easily when the sun is out. The 6wk delivery turned into about 3wks...nice surprise. Unpackaging, all the parts were there, wrapped and protected from rubbing with easy to follow directions. I do have to disagree with the 1 hour installation time, however, I wasn't looking for a fast install. It took me about 3 hours which isn't bad considering most of these old trucks have had work done and there are no two the same. I also had to drill two holes in the rear to attach the box rails but overall it is a good fit and I am looking forward to sunny weather to roll up the sides and enjoy it.

First things first, I'm sure many of you are reading for info on delivery time. I received my topper after 8 weeks and it was well worth the wait. I received an email from Softtopper after about 4 or 5 weeks to say that delivery was delayed due to supply in material. After reading through the reviews, 8 weeks delivery time was about what I was expecting anyway. ***Note to Softopper; your quality is top notch and I believe you would see a major boost in your rating to reflect it's quality if you simply upped the stated delivery time on your website.***As for the topper itself, the material is top quality. Install is quick and easy after watching their how-to video. I chose the Softtopper over a hard shell for my 2001 Tundra because I need normal access to the bed when hauling my 4 wheeler and this works perfectly for that need. Lowering the topper and raising it in place again is simple. I was concerned about the snaps being at risk of tearing off with time, but it doesn't seem like that will be an issue because the snaps on either end are not overly stretched and those in between are not stretched at all to snap and unsnap. The fit is near perfect; the only issue is it only covers about half of the stake holes on the bed rail, which will allow a little water to leak through even if you have caps to cover the holes. (the caps aren't water tight) otherwise, there is no issue with the fit. My other curiosity was how well it would keep out dust from the dusty Owyhee desert roads and it did a great job at that as well. I'm very happy with my purchase, it's well worth the wait and I highly recommend it to anyone.

I've had a softopper on my 2004 Duramax for several years now. I'm still very happy with it. The topper has aged well. I chose white and it's not as white as it was when I got it, but the canvas is still in very good shape. It still keeps everything dry. It has held up to tens of thousands of highway miles, Severe freezing temperatures from Minnesota winters (teens below zero), Severe heat and sun from Southern Oregon summers (115+ degrees) and is still in very good shape.The one complaint I have is that the snaps could be spaced just a little bit further apart on the canvas. It was tight to install when it was new, but as it has aged it has become very difficult to get the last couple snaps snapped. The first few are easy. The next couple can be done with a ratchet strap to pull it tighter. The last couple require two strong adults and the ratchet strap all working together. My personal opinion is that any looseness when it's new would be a tiny unproblematic sacrifice to be able to still put it on as it ages.

Purchased a SoftTopper for my truck, liked the idea of a lightweight, foldable camper shell. Quality of the product seemed good, straight seams, nice tight fit.... then the problems began.Had a couple snaps that hold the fabric to the base rails break after a couple months, easy enough to replace those.Got into a wind storm up in Wyoming, 40 mph cross wind is not unusual for that area of Wyoming. As I drove down the highway I noticed my topper was being pushed down a little bit by the cross wind but seemed to be doing OK. Next thing I know the back fabric of the shell is flapping around wildly. I pulled off the interstate and found the back 1/3 of the fabric totally destroyed from flapping in the wind.I have attempted to contact SofTopper customer service 5 times over the last month to see if this is a know problem. Cannot get any response from the email support and have placed several voicemail messages without any response. If you call to place any order you can get right through but if you have an issue apparently "non-response" is the norm.I got 14 months use out of a $800 topper that is now totally worthless. If you go anywhere that has high winds, I would not recommend a SofTopper.5/2/22 Update. I finally got through to a customer service representative. I was able to get a replacement canopy from SofTopper at no charge to me, they even paid the shipping. I'm very happy with the help and resolution I received from the company once I was able to connect with a representative. It is unfortunate they have not been able to fully restore customer service response times since the pandemic hit but I do think they are awesome at standing behind their products.

Waited almost 8 months before reviewing but this thing is legit! Tight as a drum going 80 on the interstate and keeps the bed dry in all weather. There is some dust that gets in but through an entire hunting and ice fishing season kept everything dry. Will remove for the summer and put back on in the fall. Even spent a night back there when it was raining and we arrived at camp spot after dark. Highly recommended and would definitely replace if it was damaged

I live in Hawaii and expected my Softopper to arrive in 4-6 weeks. I came home the other day to a surprise. I received my softopper in exactly 2 weeks as promised. It was well-packaged and took time to unpack, but that's how you know it is well prepared for shipment. Easy install and looks great on my truck. Thanks Ben and the team at Softopper!

While I cannot comment on the quality just yet, I can comment on the customer service. There really isn’t any. The web page will tell you 2-3 weeks for delivery. Your payment will go through and you will receive an immediate email reply telling you your payment has been made and to expect 2-3 weeks for the product to arrive. An hour or two later and you will receive a very exciting email telling you that your order has shipped! Don’t be fooled. None of these things is true. The 2-3 weeks……..well, let’s just say that I have been waiting for 8 1/2 weeks now. If you attempt to call, email, or reach Softopper via social media, you will be lucky to get a response. After looking at the last years worth of bad reviews, it appears this response is the exact response they have been giving for a year now and nothing has changed. Finally, I did receive an email back to my inquiry on 3/16 and it said I would see the product mid April. That's a far cry from the 2-3 weeks as advertised. It is now past the Mid-April Timeframe and still no topper and no additional updates. It would be understandable if due to worker shortages, sickness, material shortages, or storms that the lead times would get longer. However, the complete lack of transparency on their website and social media sites comes across as borderline unethical. So, if you are deciding to make a purchase, do so knowing you will know nothing, hear nothing, and will be left in the dark as to when and if your 100% paid for product will ever arrive. After all of this, I really hope the Topper is everything and more that I have heard it to be. I really want to like this company and their product but, so far, the company's lack of transparency & communication is making me very nervous. I will update this as soon as I know more. Hopefully, I can give a few more stars based on quality alone.If you can send auto emails telling customers their payment is received, why can't that same system send out automated updates?

This company over promised and under delivered. I have no idea if my topper will ever ship. They claimed 2-3 weeks. It has been almost 7 weeks with no update or response to my email. It would be better to be honest with shipping estimates than to lie to make sales.

So I call them and it takes a week for them to call me back. Once they do talk to me they said I can just drill holes in the rails and they will send me bolts. Well a week later the bolts they send aren’t even long enough to go through the rails.

This thing is great! Just recently installed on my Tacoma 60 inch bed. Looks fantastic it has held up great so far. Plan on putting this thing to much use. I do wish the tent attachment was more reasonably priced. @softopper, message me if you feel like cutting that attachment a deal.Should omit the 1stars complaining about shipping, thats bbb business. The product itself is good stuff and seems quality. Warned my wife about the shipping madness and lack of communication. So she ordered with plenty of time and prep. ZERO STARS!!! I ordered my softopper on January 28, 2022, and after a week and a half I hadn't received the topper so I called. When I called the customer service representative told me that my topper wouldn't be delivered until sometime between March 4- 12 because they had gotten behind because COVID had run through their shop, understandable. I called back today March 7 to check on the status and was immediately told that it would be another 1-2 weeks, this time because they were moving. When I told the representative that I was told the topper would be delivered by the 12th they quickly changed their story to "it's being shipped in from our other shop" and to check back on Thursday the 11th to see if there is a tracking number. At NO TIME during this ordeal have I received an email saying my order was being delayed, NOT ONCE! The main reason I had chosen Softopper was for the customer service that I had seen rave reviews on, but I have yet to experience. I am very very disappointed in how this has gone thus far.

Love it!!! I replaced my 2 year old Tonneau cover last summer with the softopper on my 2006 Tundra and have not looked back. It is just awesome. I have it up all the time and when I need extra height just fold it back real quick. It has weathered the extreme cold, snow, rain and high winds of Wisconsin with no issues. The only draw backs I see is that if you don't want anything potentially stolen from the back you will need to have a lock box. Also your not suppose to go through car washes that use a touch wash system. I have had hard tops and tonneau covers. The softtopper is just so much better and more versatile. Product looks decent but customer service and communication is terrible! Topper received as wrong color and some damage. Trying to get customer service was a nightmare. Finally got through and the lady I spoke with was rude and condescending. She told me that I would need to send pictures of damage for a return label. Which is understandable like most do. But after that she told me I would not receive any conformation that the old topper was received nor the new one was being made or shipped back. Also it would take 3 weeks for new topper to be made but from when? Should have listen to all the other reviews about customer service......

As of today (11/20/21) it has been 5 weeks since I ordered a top for my Silverado. I knew they were giving estimates of 3-5 weeks ship time when I ordered it and I was fine with that. At this point though, I would really appreciate an update on what is going on with my order. I haven't heard from them since they eagerly accepted my money!Update: I received my top about 7 or 8 weeks after I ordered it. I love my top, looks good, easy to install and easy to use. My only complaint is about the lack of customer service. If there are going to be delays, then it should be their responsibility to notify the customer and not leave them in the dark.

My wife bought one for my 72 Blazer, when she ordered it, it was 5 to 7 weeks backordered. Showed up 4 days later, Haven't put on yet but inventoried it and all parts are there. Will be installing shortly, need the weather to warm up a little more, expect it to be perfect.

Well I have owned my Softopper since 2007 when I purchased it for my 2005 Tundra. Recently checked out the site and saw how far along it has come since 2007 - I thought it was about time I reviewed my purchase. We used the Softopper to protect our gear when we traveled cross country and back in 2007. I have been using it regularly since. It is a breeze to install and remove - so I remove it between trips for other truck type work where I don't need it. I can't say enough about the quality and performance of the product. Very very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone wanting to avoid the cost, mounting hassle and limited function of a hardtop. Only issues are the squishy gaskets/adhesive under the rails that don't hold up well in the extreme heat but pretty minor issue in my view. Probably resolved by now. Do it!

***buyer beware*** Softopper will sell you a top and charge your credit card and then send you a tracking number as if it's on the way! Then, if you can get through to customer service, they will advise it is on backorder for up to 5 weeks. I had this happen a few months ago and I advised the customer service rep that it would be really nice and fair to let customers know the product is backordered prior to finalizing their order. I ordered a top again last week and got the exact same tracking number email only to find out it will not ship for up to five weeks. Customer service will tell you that they will return your call or email within 3-4 days. I have left both voicemails and emails over a week ago and you guessed it, no return call as of this review. They make a great product; however, their sales tactic by not informing the customer of the backorder status prior to payment is WRONG!

When I tried to contact them about maybe a color change or something absolutely zero response from them. The best advice is DO NOT do business with this company. If you do, save/print screen ALL your communications, and if you can get any responses. It will be helpful for the credit card charge back process, the FTC, and Colorado State Attorney General. I ordered on a "3-5 week" delivery window, currently >10 weeks no product. Formal action starts next week if nothing changes.

This is a great topper! I love the versatility it offers me, it looks amazing on my Tacoma (Cement with a black Softopper) and the installation was a breeze. I knew I would be waiting a while when I ordered it, but I wasn't in a rush. Ordered on November 24 and received it on January 12. With all the issues the pandemic has caused, I'm happy to wait for a quality product.Now for the one negative thing I've noticed about my Softopper. On page 5 of the included instructions, they show connecting the two halves of the bedrails together. The pic shows a square tube inside the square bedrail that connects them together. The inner tubes on my bedrails are round not square. This allows the rear half of the bedrail to twist inward from the weight of the topper and the stress of the stretched material.I've heard of people having these tops for years with no issues, but I'm curious how long they have been using the round tubing inside the bedrails. I'll probably buy an extra set of the rail clamps to attach close to where the two pieces of bedrail connect. If you have the long bed tacoma, they come with a third set of clamps and you should be all good. Seeing the bedrails roll inward on the short bed like I have, these should come with three sets of clamps too. For or a product that costs $800, I shouldn't have to order anything else to make sure it's mounted correctly.Overall, I'm still very happy with it and I hope it lasts for years to come.

Just wanted to write an overdue review for my softtopper. I purchased it on 9/17/21 and received it 11/16. When purchasing my softtopper I noticed the wait time and was okay with it. These are tough times and not everything can be pushed out as we all wished. Well it finally arrived and the order was correct all the way through. I purchased a Tan topper for a long bed 3rd gen Tacoma and man does it look SICK on the cement truck. I get a crazy amount of compliments and even looks on the road. I had one lady tell me shes never seen anything like it on a truck and it made me smile. Till this day, I've only seen two softtoppers in the state of Georgia. One on an older Tacoma and one on a Tundra, both looked well used but still sturdy as ever. The assembly was easy and it is a QUALITY product. The wait time is well worth it. Believe it or not it has also helped with my mpg. I travel from Atlanta to Augusta regularly and my mpg seems to be around 23/24 vs 18/19. I drive it rough too and you hardly notice any noise coming from the topper. It handles winds very well too. It rains a lot here as well and everything underneath stays bone dry! I might be the only one now in GA with a softopper but I expect to see a lot more in the future the way it seems to attract peoples attention. Such a solid product! Thank you Softopper.

I have had my soft topper on my Ram 2500 for 5 years now. It is still one of the favorite things on my truck. I did have an initial issue with some stitching but it was taken care of promptly. It is still holding up strong and I keep it on the truck for 3/4 of every year. It’s been through all kinds of weather/elements and I can’t think of a single complaint. Whether using it for just keeping a load in the bed covered or camping in it it’s fantastic. Does a great job at keeping rain out of the bed and I have slept in it during torrential downpours. It’s so easy to take off or put on solo without any assistance. 5 stars!!!!

Bought this in Feb, didn't install until Oct once the weather started to cool. Live in California so the climate is mild. I love everything about this but the quality of the rear vinyl window is marginal at best and the warranty is a joke. It's been on my truck less than 3 months and there is already a crack in the window.

Someone should buy this company and run it properly as (it seems) they have a unique, quality product -- what a shame their service is so bad. UPDATE: Someone finally responded to FB Messenger saying they could see it was scheduled to ship Jan 17th. I don't underatand why theit system sends an email that it has shipped when it isn't even available to ship. We'll see if it ships then. (They also said they are aware of theirs flaws and working to correct them.) Changed to 2 stars.ZERO communication since receiving an email my order shipped. It has been in a "shipped" status since the 21st but FedEx has not received the shipment. I've left messages, emailed, and even tried the FB messenger. Zero return on any of those.If you don't mind throwing $1000 on hold without any idea when you might get something, go for it. Otherwise, might want to buy something else.

Unethical. Don’t bother. They will charge you immediately, and will tell you it is shipped when it has not. They don’t answer or return phone calls or emails. Now I’m disputing the charge on my credit card since it’s been over a month of nothing. Terrible company. I’m sure we can all be sympathetic to supply chain issues, back orders, etc. but they don’t tell you ANYTHING even after they’ve taken your $1000.

I'm local. Went into the shop about two months ago, ordered a soft topper for my truck. They told me it would be 1-2 months depending. They called at week six, told me my topper was ready. Went and picked it up, installed it in about 1.5hrs taking my time. It really is really thick and good quality. Wasn't missing any parts, and very straight forward install.Would recommend. The lady working the front desk was very nice and helpful. No issues on my end, would recommend to anyone.

Tried to cancel my order before I got it and no response from them. They say one thing and then completely ignore you! Good or bad, communication is key, they just haven't figured that out.

I didn't know that their products were on backorder until I actually placed my order (they seem to have updated their website since), and after reading some really bad reviews, I didn't have high hopes for a timely and/or accurate delivery.Low and behold, my topper was delivered right at the 5-week mark yesterday (no shipping update- just showed up on my doorstep).Fit and finish are quality, and the install took only 60 minutes or so with the help of my 8-year old (so I probably could have done it in 45 minutes without her "help"), and that included a quick cerveza break in the middle.I would suggest Taco owners use the online install video rather than the included printed instructions, as some of the offsets for the rail were more accurate in the video.

Really want to write a glowing review but I can’t.Originally ordered my Softopper 9/29/21. It’s now 12/9/21. Last and only email received was 11/12/21 telling me my order was scheduled to ship on 11/29/21, two months after ordering.I emailed on 11/29/21 to see if we were on schedule to ship. No response.Sent follow up email on 12/6/21. No response.I know everyone is suffering with supply chain delays, but the lack of communication is infuriating. The website says backordered items will take 3-5 weeks to ship. It’s now been over 10 weeks. In all that time, I’ve received only ONE email communication other than the original order confirmation. And what they said would happen did not happen.This is easily one of the worse retail experiences I’ve ever had. @softopper, if you check your reviews more often than you check your email, please refund my money already.Thank you.

After reading reviews I was hesitant to order since reading horror stories about availability and delivery times.I accepted that it may take a few months to get it to me. Well low and behold I got an email 5 weeks after order saying if I am willing to change the color I could get it the next week. After the conversation on the phone it showed up 4 days later and got it installed in a half an hour by myself just before the snow storm hit.Yes, as a company they are difficult to get ahold of but the product is worth the wait in my humble opinion.

Scale of 1-5 for the product itself: 5/5. Only complaint is I wish the bars came in black, but I sprayed the bars with a bedliner product and took care of it. Durable canvas, cleaver design, adaptable, and low maintenance.Scale of 1-5 for the overall customer experience: 0/5. Customer service is AWFUL. I ordered my softopper months before it eventually arrived due to supply chain issues, and let me tell y'all it was worth every hour of the wait and every dollar of the price. I love it.Starting with the install, it was baby easy. The manual is quite detailed and can be done in under an hour by just one person. Some of my pieces were missing labels, I assume due to them wanting to get my order out as quick as possible, and still I was able to complete the installation.In terms of functionality, it's wonderful. Very easy to roll up or fold up entirely, which makes this a better option than a hard shell bed cover because you still retain full functionality of having a pickup truck without having to go through the painful process of taking the whole thing off.It protects my bed from weather very well. The intended purpose of buying my softopper was so I could sleep in the bed on overlanding camping trips, and it stands up to wind and rain very well. The ONLY reason it's not getting 5 stars is that during heavy rain the water on the top diffuses through and soaks the straps that dangle underneath that serve to hold up the side walls if you roll them up. They then drip water until hours after the rain stops, which was a very unfortunate way to wake up in the middle of the night.Also, top notch customer service. They were never a pain to deal with and were always polite and quick to respond.Highly recommend softopper

Update 11/23/21:I received my order quite literally out of nowhere as I have kind of given up on receiving anything for the next few weeks. This thing is awesome and completely changes the look of my truck and I couldn’t be happier with it! Super easy installation, barely had to even look at the instructions as it so straight forward. Be warned it is helpful having two people for the canvas stretch to the snaps, I’m sweating just thinking about it! However great the product, my frustration detailed in my original post still stands, as shipping delays during Covid are completely valid HOWEVER what is not valid is getting mad at customers when you haven’t or won’t communicate with them regarding their order. Charging cards for back orders is not a procedure 99% of retailers will do, they will charge the card once the item becomes a available to send out to the customer. So while I love this product and the second individual I spoke to when getting my order status was lovely I cannot overlook the lack of communication on their part!Original review:Whatever you do don't call them to check on your order status, apparently I'm supposed to know that my item is on backorder even though nowhere on their site does it state that nor my email. I was met with so much aggression when all I did was say the date I bought it and before I even told her the item or my order number she was telling me how backorders work and that everything is custom made per order. I guess that was my bad. ?! Man I'm really regretting spending my money at this company, their stuff looks cool but be warned that you'll receive no communication and don't dare try to bridge that gap, instead just cross your fingers that it'll arrive someday!

I saw some reviews that were negative because of them taking so long to ship. I called the company and a friendly lady explained that they were understaffed and some of the materials were arriving weeks late. I went ahead and placed an order. My topper arrived in just two weeks and took about 90 minutes to install (im a little slow because I like to read everything carefully). Seems very high quality but I wanted to leave a review because the quality is very high and we all know that there are shortages right now. Would definitely buy again as it can be taken down in just a couple of minutes with one person.

1st, It says installing takes about an hour...not if you do it right. I did the YouTube scroll first and watched several videos. All parts were there and material is exceptional! I kept the rails loose and glad I did due to repositioning several times. Make sure the red markers on the arm is towards the cab! I only needed help to pull down the sides to snap into place.. You have an option to use Velcro inside towards cab or drill pilot holes for snaps which are included. I did the snaps.. Over all perfect fitment on my Ram Longhorn! Absolutely love it! Oh, by the way I am 5' tall and a Grandma! Go girls you can do it!

So far not impressed. I ordered about $1500 worth of product from #softopper and they marked it shipped, gave me a tracking number, and billed my account right away with in 2 days. But they have not, 2 weeks later, actually shipped it and will not return my emails or phone calls to find out when it will ship or if it got lost on the way to the shipper. Their auto reply email says give them a week to respond I gave then 7 business days. Softopper does not seem like a safe company to do business with. A simple communication would be nice. They won't even tell you if the item you are ordering is in stock or on backorder.

ordered for my 2018 tundra extra cab on 10/7, received on 10/22. easy to set up, took around 45 minutes. four stars because one of the rail bars was missing the button that springs into the hole that lines up with it when the two rails are mated together. set up without it but used a self-tapping screw to secure. So far I really like it.

Light weight, easily taken off, or folded down.Tip; If you are installing in a cooler climate as I had to, just put a small propane heater on the bed with the cap cover loosely on. Wait 10 minutesand proceed to snap the cover in place, but start the snapping at the cab side of cover and work towards tail gate.Ordered the gray top which matches the cement gray of Tacoma off road.Also have black Uptop overland rack system which contrasts well.Many thanks Softopper !Tally Ho !

I was informed my order was "scheduled to ship at the end of October. Also that I will love my soft topper for years to come.Such a joke.Don't order from this site if you need it anytime soon. It has been over a month and it still has not arrived. I have called and emailed, but have not gotten any response... Awful customer service in my opinion. I ordered Sept 11th.

I've owned the Softopper on my 2017 RAM 2500 since 2018. It has withstood a few Sierra Winters by now, and I am very happy with it's performance. I love the fact that it has all of the utility without the steep price if a fiberglass or steel shell. I can throw in a half cord of firewood or load my Yamaha Grizzly 700 without having to remove it completely. I've strapped kayaks to the top without issue. It's amazing. Spray it with 303 or similar UV protection onto it every now and again, and it looks as good as new.I'm looking forward to purchasing another for my 1979 Ford Bronco. I know that the current supply and labor shortages may mean that I'll need to wait a little longer for it to arrive this time, but that's to be expected nowadays. No big deal. I'm just thankful that I can purchase a super high quality product like this that is made in the USA. Nobody else even makes soft tops for older SUV's. I'm sure that the Blazer and Scout guys can relate.

Back in 2018 I ordered one for my F150 and it shipped quickly. I had an easy time setting it up and I loved it very much. I think the soft topper is a great product.I recently needed to order a new soft topper for my new F250 because the bed is longer than my other truck and I of course went back to soft topper to get another great soft top. I ordered it back in Sept. 10, 2021. I got a confirmation that they received my order and they charged my credit card. I then got an email soon after that neither confirming or denying my soft topper was back ordered. It said that any items that was back ordered would be shipped within 3-5 weeks. It is now mid October and I still haven’t received my soft topper. I then reached out on two different occasions through their email portal that said they would respond within 48 hours. I did not ever receive a reply on the status of my order.I then called and attempted to reach someone in customer service but I had to actually leave a message for someone to call me back even though it was within business hours. I have yet to receive a phone call or email reply back on the status of my order.I am wanting to get a refund at this point because it doesn’t appear that I will receive the soft topper before I leave on my hunting trip to Wyoming. If you need this item for a hunting trip coming up you might as well wait until next year to order it because it won’t be here in time.I’m very disappointed in their level of customer service. I wish I could actually speak to someone in order to get my money back.

I received the wrong clamps and a bed rail that was too short and had pitting in aluminum. They told me they'd have the correct rails and clamps shipped to me within two days. A week later, when I finally received the replacement rails and correct clamps, I realized they shorted me some screws for the rear window bar. Buyer beware with this company.Like others have said, they don't answer their phone or emails right away. When they get back to you, it's about four days later. With my latest issue, I still haven't heard back from them, and it's been over a week.

Best topper for my trucks I have ever found. This is my second soft topper. Had one on my 2018 Chevy. Ordered one for my new 2020 long box High County Chevy. They had to make new ones for the newer models. Got mine as soon as they were updated. Got a gray one to go with my pearl white truck. It's awesome and does everything and then someI take it through the car washes and it doesn't leak . If you want something you can just fold down to haul something big and keep whatever in your bed dry and clean It's the Soft Topper.

I ordered a topper in July. Same issue as other reviewers. I was told at the end of August that the materials were back ordered and would be in Sept 6. Emailed the company last week to check on the order. No response. I am a small business owner and would never treat customers this poorly. A little communication goes a long way. If I don’t get a response I will try to call to cancel my order (26633) and get a refund or will look into legal action and will continue to put bad reviews daily until I get a response. What poor customer service.

Ordered product 5 weeks ago, credit card was charged immediately and received a fedex tracking number, order status indicates it shipped. Have sent emails with only an automated response, tried calling and ran into cascading options, system hung up on me before I could even leave a message. I can't even cancel the order and get my money back. My only option might be to dispute the charge with my cc company.I did see some responses on the BBB website that indicated they get over 4000 emails a day. If that's the case they need to hire some help. They are plenty of people in Boulder that need a job and answering emails is easily done remotely.

Several years ago, I had a Honda Ridgeline and purchased a soft topper. It was easy to install and I used it for years with no problem. Loved the ease of folding down to nothing for storage when not needed. Also, it was excellent keeping things dry during rain storms.Well, here it is in 2021 and I am again buying another Honda Ridgeline. And guess what, I will be buying another softopper as soon and I get the vehicle.American made (Colorado). Got to love it.

I ordered a softopper for my Chevy 2500 after having poor results trying to find a fiberglass cap.Ordering was easy.However,upon installation,I realized I was missing 2 clips for attaching the poles to the frame.I am also missing the seam sealer.I have tried emailing customer service and have tried calling many times.No response at all.This has been 2 weeks at least.Although I like the product,I would not recommend doing business with Softopper.

I purchased the Softopper for my '13 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x in January of '21. it lived through snow, rain, and heavy dust with excellent results! I loved the versatility of being able to roll up panels, or fold it against the cab when hauling something tall. Unfortunately, it wasn't fire proof, and neither was my Frontier. I lost it on August 4th while fighting the Dixie fire in Northern California. After this fire is over and I replace my truck, I will absolutely be purchasing another Softopper!

And yep here I am no topper- no phone call- no email- but they have my money… such a shame… all you have to do is communicate with your clients… please refund me my money!- update- 8/19/21 they finally called me and explained the back up and said I would receive the topper by the end of August. I was surprised when it was delivered 8/18/19- and I love it! Really easy to assemble - took me by my self about 45 min to put it on my truck- great material seems to be well made and I am now a happy customer! 👍🏻

So I bought my Softopper back in 2017 because I didn’t like the limitations of my conventional tri-fold top. I also wanted to camp in the bed of my Tacoma, but wasn’t interested in the look or limitations of a fibreglass top.Well four years later I couldn’t be happier, this top performed perfectly for all my needs. I had purchased a screen window as well with camping in mind but found it wasn’t really a necessity for the most part because the fabric breathes like a good tent anyway.Although in hot weather camping it’s nice to have.Pops up in minutes for gravel loads or motorcycles and back again just as easily.Four years of Canadian winters and it still looks great!I followed the directions and sealed the seams and it still is weather tight.The only drawback is thing is a real attentive grabber; get used to other truck owners forever asking you about it. 👍

First of all let me say I love the way it looks and am glad I did it. I was difficult to install and took a lot longer than 1-2 hours. To add to the frustration, I was shorted one screw for the piece that went on the cab as well as 12 of the nuts did not fit the provided screws so that delayed the install due to a trip to the hardware store. Very glad to be on this side of the install.

When I bought my Softopper, I was going Sturgis Bike week and was going to camp out of it, that was before my wife decided we were going to take our camper instead.Since I've had my Softopper, I've had numerous people given me compliments and ask questions about difficulty putting it together and tearing it down. I even demonstrate how easy folding it up.I like my top and am glad that I bought it. I won't go back to an expensive heavy fiberglass top.Well worth the money.

I couldn’t be happier with my purchase and the customer service I received from Softopper. First, the topper allows me so much flexibility compared to either a hard sided canopy or a tonneau cover. I bought this for a 2014 Chevy to provide extra storage primarily in hunting , fishing and camping applications and originally was looking at hard sided covers. However after looking at the cost deltas between the products for a 7 year old vehicle and the configuration flexibility of the softopper, my decision was easy. Gives me plenty of dry storage when needed but is so easy to configure and remove that I don’t get stuck having a shell on all the time. I was previously thinking I would buy a hard shell when I do buy a new truck but I’ll be purchasing another softopper insteadAs far as customer service goes, I offer the following. Yes, there were delays as I ordered this in mid June with an expected ship date of 8/6. I am leaving for a trip on 8/7 and really wanted to have the topper for it. I called, was able to get a hold of customer service and explained the situation. The woman on the other end of the line could not have been more helpful. She listed to my concerns, made note of it and offered to overnight my order once the materials were available given the supply chain delays. Well, it arrived in 8/3 in plenty of time for my trip. I know others have not had similar experiences based on the reviews below but it sure seems like Softopper is taking the feedback seriously and making positive changes based on my experience. Great product and people!!!

Where do I begin? I purchased the demo Softopper for my Scout II since the brand new ones for backordered for weeks. Upon installation, I was missing a few screws and cotter pins here and then which was no big deal since I could get them easily from a hardware store. Although, after installation i realized I did not receive the boot cover for when my top is fully retracted or stored. I emailed, left a voice message, and called multiple times to fix this to no avail. i do not have all day to sit and wait for customer service to actually answer so after about a week of attempting contact, I decided to just buy the replacement on their website. Before I bought the boot cover I am driving it with both sides and the rear rolled up and I get honks from cars pointing at my top. I pull over and the rear retainer bar is slid out and hanging about 3 feet over my passenger side. Thank goodness it didn't side-swipe anything. So as I inspect for the cause, I see that my driver side rear bar plastic clip where the tension strap attaches to is broke, so my tension on my drivers side was off and loose which made my top shift towards the passenger side and allowed the rear bar to slide out. Just to make it home I decide to roll down my sides again and snap them but not my rear most button snap on the drivers side where the clip broke is under extreme tension since there is no tension strap. The entire top tension is horrid and I have to hear it flap like hell during the ride home and afraid something else will break. So, I just buy the replacement plastic clips right away since I have not heard back from previous customer service inquiries and don't want to bother wasting my time again waiting for a callback or pickup. The total for buying the boot cover, which i was missing, and two pairs of tension slips plus the steep $30 shipping led to a cost over $100 for issues that should have been dealt with my customer service and not paid at my expense. I finally receive my items and I am missing a set of the rear plastic clips!! I ordered two sets for backups since my first one broke. I received 4 screws which would be enough for two sets, just not the second set! Upon reinstallation of the drivers rear plastic clip that broke, I notice the screws I just received are completely different and much larger than the ones I received originally. Of course they do not work but luckily I still had my original ones. These are just more issues added upon my terrible experience. I finally reinstall the clips and can now readjust my tension but ever since then the softop just doesn't hold a taught shape like it used to and flaps much more than ever before. I do not want to try tightening anymore and risk another clip breaking especially since I didn't receive my second pair so I'd have to wait again. Now I can't even trust it holding on tight with the sides rolled up. Overall, this is by far the worst series of customer service / product experience I have ever experienced with any company period. Considering I spent over $1000 for their softop i would have imagined these issues would be dealt with in a timely manner, let alone at all. I will not purchase another softop from here again and will try my luck with Rhinyl or go back to my hardtop if this damn softopper gives me any more grief. The two stars is only because the material is quality, but customer service and product experience was asinine. Maybe if someone from softopper sees this review I'll actually get some sort of reply back, but I doubt it.

1 star and would give 0 if it was an option!!!Wow what a horrible experience! Ordered my topper on July 26th, and then the 30th I was notified that my order was somehow cancelled…. Now I didn’t cancel the order, but their “website” did. Remind you the pending charge is on my credit card for 10-14 days. Now instead of Softopper “holding” my place in line and allowing me to pay after the pending charge is released from my account they wanted me to pay for another order. Their fault my order was cancelled but yet I have to reorder and have another $1000 charge either pending or paid to them. If only a company cared about their customers and not all about their bottom dollar…. This has cost them multiple future purchases which friends of mine would have been making. This act has for sure pushed me away. If customer service is this bad on a purchase, how will it be with replacement parts, warranty’s, etc.

Ordered my softopper for my 2020 ram 2500 back on june 1st and received it july 23rd. Shipping did take longer than expected (covid has everything backed up) but customer service was great. Nga went above and beyond to keep me in the loop and even called me to tell me when it was shipped. Received it the next day. As for the top ive got to say, ive never been a canopy guy but i love the topper already! Not only does it look great and the construction is top notch but its great to be able to throw things in the back and not have them flying around.

Ok for starters. The top is nice and is very handy. All parts came and install was fairly simple if your mechanically inclined at all. The reason I am giving 2 stars is because the fact of the two different style directions and most of all the customer service. I am going to shoot you straight. If you’re looking for complete dryness LOOK ELSE WHERE!!!! If you’re looking for great fast customer service don’t bother ordering it. And yes it will take 10 days for it to ever ship. I applied the seam sealer they supplied. Topper leaked like crazy!! Called and left message and a month later I finally received a call back. That same day I called I emailed them. Took 2 weeks for someone to ever get back to me. In the mean time I had alrdy purchased my own seam sealer and heavily applied it. Still not fully dry but itll work.

Worst shopping experience i've had in some time. They took my $998.00 and I waited and waited and waited. How to Prepare:

Confirm that your product number is correct, arrives as scheduled, and appears ready for installation
Softopper tops should be installed in a warm environment (ideally around or above 72 degrees Fahrenheit). Bring the cover indoors the night before the installation. The fabric will warm up and be more pliable.
Remove any aftermarket accessories or contents in the truck bed
Make sure the vehicle can be accessed from all sides
Have a person 18 years or older present for the entire On-Site Service appointment
As a courtesy, and if applicable, inform your Technician of special parking requirements, such as any no-parking days for street sweeping
For their safety (and for the Technician’s safety), secure any pets away from the On-Site Service Location
