Bought tan top for my white F350 long bed crew cab in December 2022. Made my annual trek from Texas panhandle to New England so much easier! Highly recommend. No leaks in the pouring rain, sleet & snow. Directions were great, but needed to put it on in the cold, so had to use a heater to get it to stretch. Got a lot of compliments...and now my family calls my truck the covered wagon!

Having the Softopper on my 92 Toyota truck for over a year now, you cant beat them.Only truck canopy I've owned that doesn't leak at all, bed of my truck is 100% dry even in the heavy rains of the California north coast.

I bought my Softopper in early December of 2022. It's my first one. We live in Oregon's Willamette Valley. There has been a lot of rain, snow and hail so far. We've been cleaning out an estate and loading the truck for trips to a storage facility. It's 35 miles round trip. Our Softopper totally performs as advertised. The pickup bed has remained dry. The fabric seems extremely durable. What a blessing this has been as we've been forced to work on many rainy days.One thing I will say: When Softopper states that it's best to install the unit in warm temperatures they mean it. We had to install it when it was cold outside. Putting a heater in the truck bed with the fabric stretched over the support rails did the trick.I'd buy another one in a heartbeat!!!

This is one product I love to brag about, not to mention all the compliments I get about ho good it looks. I have the Decked drawer system, so I needed additional vertical to keep gear dry. Because it collapses, which I rarely do, I can accommodate taller items (I have a hitch mounted rack for Mountain Bikes). Inside, most brutal cold - amazon type rain storms, inside stays dry from the elements. Made in the USA, engineered thoughtfully, highest quality construction and materials, VERY functional … plus it looks great.

I purchased my 'Softopper' cap back in 2008 when I purchased my 2008 Toyota Tundra new (13 years ago!). It has never been garaged and has had to endure the outside elements all this time. It is used daily as my main transportation and It is still going strong.Thanks for making such a great product that has withstood the harsh Maine winters all these years. Its unique ability to fold forward into 'Storage' mode allows me to have all the versatility of a pick up truck by allowing vertical loading of items higher than the cap, but then can quickly convert back to 'Covered' mode that allows me to keep items in the back without fear of inclement weather damaging the items. It makes me wonder why anyone would settle for a Tonneau cover when they can have all the additional features that this cap enables instead?I am wondering if someone has had their cover longer than this?Thanks again for such a great American made product!Sincerely,Mark ArmstrongHermon Maine

Super!!! I Ordered my softtopper for my RAM 2500 longbed, while visiting in FL. (From Co) On a Tuesday, chatted with staff online and they assured me that it would be shipped and arrive in a week. This is important because I was leaving the place where it was shipping to in 10 days. My order went out, tracking Said it would be delivered on the Monday (less than a week from when I ordered it).It showed up 2 days earlier on Sat. About 1 hour later it was installed! Very happy with the quality, staff and transaction.Thx softtopper, cya back in CO!

I originally ordered my Softopper because I didnt want a 'camper' on my truck year round, and with the intent of storing it in the garage after our annual beach trip. Well that was 6+ months ago and I havent even given a thought to removing my Softopper. We enjoyed going safari at the beach by removing the rear panel and rolling up the sides, it was like having a bimini top on my Nissan Frontier as we cruised down the sand. Unlike a hardshell, I can fold it back quickly, as when picking up a new freezer for the garage. I added a 3rd brake light, it was easy, some magnets and flexseal tape have held up well for mounting, preventing me from having to put holes in my wonderful Softopper. I highly recommend the Softopper.

Back in May I place an order for My 2017 Tundra, Paid for it then Only received two frame pieces never got the actual canopy part then called many times, tried sending emails and got nowhere so in the end I just lost My money and got nothing to show for it, nice ha!I just can't believe this people are still in business.RUDY SANDOVAL.

Softtopper makes a good product but their long term customer support is terrible. My rear panel window had sun damage after a year and when I ordered a new panel, they said they discontinued making it. And seemed ok with asking me to purchase a whole new $760 softtopper shell. I sent them an email asking further questions and they didn’t answer any of my questions, just sent me a refund on the rear panel I ordered. Terrible customer service. If I had known they care nothing for their past customers, I would have paid for their competitors product. Buy a hard shell…not worth the terrible customer service.

We purchased our Softopper for our 2009 Nissan Frontier when the truck was a few years old and had about 30k miles on it. Both are still going strong! We have had to replace the front and back windows but that is to be expected after all those years. The company is very good about having replacement parts at affordable prices. Thanks for such a quality product, and 10 out of 10 for it's customer service - especially Angel G. that I spoke with today.

I got it a few years ago for Alaska to Key West military transfer and it works great. I recently added the datin bed rack so I could still use my softopper with my RTT. It all works like a champ.

If you want to spend a few hours customizing a $1100 topper this is for you. The original brackets were not in the correct place and had to drill new holes and make a custom bracket for this to work correctly. Also id recommend taking the canvas into a dry sauna before you try working with it.

I have had a Softopper on my 1998 Tacoma since 2014 and have been very pleased with it except for the vinyl. It gets very cloudy and crazed from the UV. I have replaced it 2x and it is part needing to be replaced again.

I placed my back in June 2022. Received the kit late August. The hardware kit was wrong, they sent a Chevrolet kit. I have a Ford. Called and talked a Technician, was promised he look into it. Heard nothing back. Called again, talked to a different Technician, promised I would have the right kit in about 7 to 10 days. Nothing, called again, talked to yet another Technician. This one actually tried to correct the problem. Was sent a new hardware kit for my short bed Ford truck. The kit I received is for an 8 foot bed. My truck is 6 1/2 feet. At this point, just simply mad about the constant lack of quality control.

Fantastic and exceed expectations. I ordered the Softopper for my 2022 GMC 2500 HD after lots of research on the best way to move hunting gear without having a hard camper shell or a bed cover that was to low for a large cooler or freezer.After 2 hunts, 2000+ miles of driving at speed across CO, KS, MO, AR (etc) in snow, sleet, and driving rain here are the true benefits I have found.1) My gear stayed dry!2) I can haul a trunk freezer and get in to it by sliding back the canopy (kinda like the bimi top to a boat) along with all my other gear without having to hunch over or crawl.3) You can’t see in to it except from the back and with a locking tailgate a thief’s access would be limited (sides are blocked by the supports) and would be fairly obvious from the back.4) The install is as easy as the videos, took me about 1.5 hours the first time. Then 30 min the 2nd time after storing it between trips. Removal is about 20 minutes. When re-snapping the cover I find working from the tailgate back is easier. (In the cold it is harder as the canvas gets tighter)5) Rear visibility through the two layers of clear plastic is much better than I expected.6) At highway speed + the canvas sucks into the frame and appears to get tighter.Things that could be improved1) It would be nice to get a torque setting for the clamps vs just “tight”. I have had to tighten them as they were loose but no visible impact to performance.2) As stated in the instructions and the videos the Velcro on the back (by the cab) won’t stick to spray liner so be prepared to drill in the snap buttons. But, Softopper should include 5 screws snaps vs. 4 as the instructions call to install 3 with one extra….. but there are 4 places to snap the Sftopper to on the back wall of the truck bed. - also per the instructions be prepared to break a drill bit. I did and I was being careful, good luck!If you buy a Softopper I would recommend getting the “sold separately” cover for storage, it is next on my list of things to buy.I would highly recommend the Softoper and I will buy again for my next truck.

I love my Softopper and camper extension. Softopper’s customer service is second to none! When Fedex lost my order they overnighted a replacement! When the wrong camper extension was sent they again overnighted the correct one so I could use it the next day! I love this team!

Ordered a Softtopper in May 2022 for a 2017 Ram. Made contact in July to customer service the lady was nice but really didn’t provide any meaningful service. Said they didn’t have the toppers but had a lot of frames. By August was wondering if it would ever arrive. E mailed several times no response!!!October, final they admitted to loosing the order when they changed computer software in July. Again no response in Aug to e mails. October 24 was supposed to be the delivery day, still nothing. Honestly at this point, not even sure if this is a real company, so far all they have done in taken my money and provided nothing.

Extremely disappointed with the customer service. After driving in hopes for a consultation or at the very least she would take measurements. NOPE.. no interest in doing ANYTHING. I have a custom Dodge Dakota. It can't be much different than a Toyota/Chevy Cheyenne etc. Whatever. She told me they don't sell well so they stopped making them. I'm sorry, but aren't you a custom designer? Or I guess that has to be mass produced. Anyway.. Very unhelpful, extremely dismissive and it was probably not within her wheel house of capabilities to work "outside the box." I'll find someone else that wants to help me out. Bye

Well after reading many of these reviews, it seems the logical choice to not go with this company. Thank you to everyone who left their reviews, especially those for customer service and the product itself. We in the trucking industry know all about backorders, so that wasn't our worry. However wanting 3 of our tacomas outfitted with a system that had a rack and cover, this seems like a very expensive beat around the bush of a hard shell. I was about to order the Canvas Cage Rack until I saw the recent review that it doesn't come with the canvas itself. I too thought it did and was about to order 3 of them as so. The whole page indicates that the canvas would come with that cage. This would have set my company back $4,500 and 5 weeks on our trucks. Especially seeing that their customer service is pretty negligent, I called just to verify and the somewhat younger man i spoke too, after waiting forever, was insanely short and rude. Just wanted to put our companies expectations on here incase anyone finds themselves in the same boat.

I ordered my softopper for 2014 Tacoma no 14 Sept. It arrived on 13 October (4 weeks & a day). Installation was mostly easy, but you want to start the zippers for the back window before installing the soft top (it's devilish hard to get them started once the top is attached). I have two main problems: you can't use the Toyota utility rails, except that part behind the center support pin for the Softopper. Anything attached forward of those supports is in the way. Also, the support pins protrude and catch on stuff, when the softop is off the pickup. They're pretty flimsy, and mine already bent. I can still use them, I think.The soft top is very easy to remove and store. I will leave it in my garage most of the time. Folding it against the cab doesn't work, if you want to haul soil or woodchips, because the fabric hangs down inside the bed, and it would be too easy to damage the poles. I am mostly satisfied with this purchase.

Customer service is one of the worst I've ever seen. Trying to get an update on an order placed almost 4 weeks ago. 3 sent emails later and an unanswered phone call, I still have heard nothing. I'm probably just going to put in for a refund soon. Made in America but the customer service must be made in China.

I just got it put on so I cant give a review of the products but the installation was easy until you have to snap it on. The corner snaps were a real pain. And zipping in the back window is almost impossible. I bought the screen window extra. Switching them around will be a real pain. I hope the snaps hold because it’s tight

Just installed on a 2020 Tundra, easy install, have had several hard rains--stayed bone dry inside the bed(I did seam seal before install). The directions were great=---not written by a Chinese, very detailed and easy to comprehend. I have now owned both Besttop and Softtopper. The SofTopper wins hands down. Easier install, better fit and finish, super easy to fold down or remove, made in USA. UPDATE--still great,had to seal some seams, a little tire shine from Car Guys and it looks brand new. Have gotten several compliments on it after almost 3 years.

Got mine during the lock down so the family could go camping. It's been great for that, and everything else since it's been on the truck. I've driven thru blizzards, high winds, rainstorms, even a small hail storm. No leaks, no tears, no problems. I did have the see thru rear panel at 1st. Was fine, but it did crack in the cold weather. Ordered a solid back panel replacement. It arrived early, took maybe 5 mins to put on, and has been problem free since. Def recommended this product if looking for an alternative to a hard top. Cheaper, and more versatile. Obviously it's not as secure as a hardtop, but you'll have to weigh that out for yourself. Overall a very solid product, and something I would order again.

Extremely disappointed with this company's ability to fill an order. Ordered a common size 4 weeks ago, with the understanding that it takes 2-3 weeks for an order to be fulfilled. I just called and was told it would be at least another 4 weeks+ to be recieved. I purchased this with the plans of using it for a trip and will now not have it in time. Should have purchased a competitors product, which I would have recieved in time.

I ordered my softopper Aug 2nd and still have nothing, it is now Sept 8th. I called 3 times, 2 people said it's ready to ship and I'll receive tracking info in a day or 2. 3 rd person now says we don't have your order and will PROBABLY be another 3 weeks! No offer to ship overnight or anything. Horrible workers that don't know what's going on. Wish I could buy something similar elsewhere!!

Took roughly a month and a half to arrive. Understandable given that they’re made to order.Digging it thus far. Install is easy though there is a bit of fitting to make sure everything folds, unfolds, and positions as needed. Nothing I didn’t expect and nothing you can’t do in hour or two with minimal tools….I believe the clamps needed a 14mm socket/wrench to tighten, that’s it. Initially putting the topper over the frame takes some muscle, so probably wouldn’t hurt to have a helping hand, though it can be done alone. Left the the topper up for a few days to stretch out and it’s notably easier to snap down now.I LOVE the functionality of this and that’s probably what caught your attention as well. Wanted a topper for the truck for camping purposes, but didn’t want the grandpa-look that comes along with toppers. It only takes a few minutes of zippers and Velcro to raise or lower the topper. Best part? I still have something that looks and functions like an actual truck with it down. Not to mention little to no gas-mileage penalty with it down. My Ecoboosted F150 lost about 100 miles of range with the top up, not unsubstantial, especially if you’re not actively in need of a bed cover. It even takes only a minute to fully remove the top itself, leaving only the bed rails if you really want to clean up the look of the truck. Removed you can store this anywhere, regardless of your living situation, try that with a hard-shell topper…..Security could be an issue given the only thing keeping the rear door closed is Velcro, zippers, and snaps. It’s also a soft top, so a thief could just cut it as well. That’s the main drawback to this, but it’s inherent in the materials and not a reflection on the quality of the item. This is so far worth every penny.If you want a topper that you don’t have to fiddle with, is secure against theft (or even big predators), and don’t need a fully functional truck bed a hard topper is still likely your best option.However, if you want maximum versatility out of your truck, and still keep the appearance of a traditional truck, this is the best thing I’ve found. Definitely recommend

Absolutely HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They don't send a single update on what's going on with your order. Our order was delayed past the time they said it would be here, so they gave us a new delivery date and we weren't going to be living at the address listed anymore. So I call the warehouse and the guy on the phone confirms they can hold it for us and we can pick it up there, AND THEN THEY SHIP IT ANYWAY. There's been times I've called the shop DURING OFFICE HOURS and you get a voice message saying to call back during office hours, hmmm last I checked I am calling during office hours?

Terrible service. Don’t even bother spending money here if you require any customer service. I ordered a spare panel for my topper, paid the money (200$) and still two months later haven’t received it, but received the rest of my order. They basically robbed me, not to mention they’re impossible to get ahold of, and if you do, don’t expect it to go anywhere.

I was prepared to wait a few weeks. Need to call? Do so right when they open. Was easy to install and took me about 1 and a half hours. I read the instructions and then used the video for a step by step guide. Looks good and appears to be of good quality. Will see how it holds up on my first trip towing my Gladiator with my RV.

I have had my soft tupper for a few years you years now And it's one of the best things I've ever bought started out as for my wife's pick up And then when we sold hers and I put it on my pickup and it's on there right now I use it every day If it protects everything that I put in there I have had only one glitch If one of my tension straps has failed me And I need to get a new one,also the clip that holds the metal bar has broken, I have had the salt chopper for about 14 years now and it is still in very good shape no tears or rips in the fabric one bit and the zippers and the snaps are in Exxon condition

Ordered a replacement window, just a replacement window, and its been over 2 months without shipment. Sent an email to their customer support on July 18th asking for any update. No response. Sent follow up ask on July 26th, and they literally just responded on August 16th with a generic response saying to just call them. When you call them, they give you a line about parts coming on a truck in a few weeks. Don't waste your time with this company.

Spent just under a $1,000 on one of these soft tops and in return received a soft top with no hardware to install. Attempted reaching out to customer service everyday for weeks and they never answered my phone calls or emails. Strongly recommend anyone looking into purchasing from this company to look elsewhere

6-month report: Install was a breeze. Across country twice in all manner of weather, this surprised me for its water-tight performance. Get better mileage too! Absolutely no complaints! Would buy again in a heartbeat!2nd UPDATE: 5-stars for a surprise delivery of my soft topper today, 2-weeks before they said they’d ship. I’m overjoyed but it would be nice to know it was coming as a complete shipment. Even FedEx said was it was only one pkg. Bottom line: they are working their customer service! I’d rather they promise late and deliver early, than the opposite. Thanks Soft Topper! Now for the install…UPDATE: Raised rating to 3-stars after Softtopper finally emailed me yesterday 14-days after placing my order to alert about the back order. New ship date is week of 6/29. Guess they are slammed! Regardless, corporate communications need help: if you are going to order, then expect to pay now & receive the gear in the future, date tbd. I’m sure looking forward to getting the topper, sleeper add-on & boot cover. May add stars to their rating.ORIGINAL: Would love to give a glowing review but after 10-days, all I have show is an $1,100 credit card charge. A FedEx label was generated the same day as the order, but since then, no shipments, just crickets… If it’s a back order issue, then just let the customer know, for Pete’s sake! Calls, emails as yet NOT acknowledged. If you guys can auto-change my credit card, then you can code order updates as well?14-month UPDATE: still water tight & smart as the day I installed. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. No longer receiving any customer service assistance. Only response i get is computer generated email.I bought a top for my 2013 F150. Very good quality product. At the same time ordered the storage bag. I still have not recieved it. After I got the top and saw how good the quality was, I ordered the tent on may 22. As of today it still has not shipped. That is over six weeks.The product is great, but the service is why it's only 3 stars.Order from someone else if you are planning to use it this season.

The topper is great and super easy to put together, feels durable, and I couldn't be happier with it,Was hoping to do local pick up to save on shipping, but couldn't get a response via email or phone, so i just ordered because the product speaks for itself. I got an email saying order confirmed and to expect 2-3 weeks wait, but it arrived a week later to my door, and an email saying it was ready to ship arrived 10 minutes after the topper itself but no tracking info.So basically the product is great, but whatever shipping/communication system they use is not, you just kind of get it when you get it. but you'll be happy when you do

Love the topper. It did take about two months to arrive… I can fold it down and load my motorcycle, fold it up for the dog, or whatever else I need to keep dry. It really was easy to install and it’s easy to adjust to the various styles of use. Probably buying the tent cover too since my bed is short. I’ve always had hard toppers but don’t want to trailer the bike. This is way more versatile. Also, the grey was darker than expected, which I’m really happy with on a black truck.

I ordered on line paid in full .For over a month iv called iv sent emails with not one response. at this point I just want my money back. If its on back order they could at lest let me know. What kind of company operates like this :( worst costumer service i have ever seen.

We got the topper very quickly, 2 weeks to Hawaii! Two plastic pieces were missing, an email later, I heard back from customer service and they sent the replacements Fed-Ex overnight, which for Hawaii is 4 days. We got the pieces, put them on and the topper is perfect. It looks great, too. Very pleased with this company.

My soft topper is awesome but their customer support is horrible. I ordered my topper and cover bag about 3 months ago and it took about a month to receive my topper (very acceptable amount of time), but I never received my cover bag but was billed for it. Over two months I’ve call and left three voicemail (even called during their business hours) and have emailed them 3 times and have gotten zero response. I’m very disappointed in there customer support! It’s good company policy to let customers know if their product is back ordered, lost, ect. No one should be left in the dark wondering if they will ever receive what they paid for. Product quality A+ and customer service gets a F.Follow up: softtopper apologized and responded to my emails and notified me that the cover bag was out of stock and will ship in a few weeks. Since they have responded, I’ve up thier star rating since they have a bomb proof product. Just plan for long delays on orders.

My topper arrived in less than a week. The quality is fantastic and install took about 45 minutes. The canvas can be snapped on initially by one person but it is much easier with a second set of hands. Very happy with my purchase!

Installed my new SOFTOPPER today! I'm still adjusting here and there, but I am satisfied so far. The default install is nice and tight (maybe too tight?). It folds up, down, and snaps in AOK. Probably going to install the screw-in snaps inside the bed under the rear window tomorrow... I have a factory spray on bed liner and the velcro won't adhere to it. Overall, very pleased!

I'm inquiring from Vancouver Canada, and a lady with an asian accent answered my call. I asked about a soft top for a Jeep Gladiator and half the time she couldn't even answer any of my questions. I was asking for a local distributor in Canada but she couldn't give me any answers. She then put me on hold for 15mins, then hung up on me. Very unprofessional and gives the company such a bad reputation when you have someone answering phones who don't know anything about proper customer service.

Worked great for a total of 2 camping trips. I’ve had it for a few months and somehow the front window (cab side) has just deteriorated with holes in it even though it’s not exposed to the elements. Some small leaks at the seams fixed with the sealer but come on. Make the whole thing durable it’s a bit absurd that the non-exposed portion falls apart like a wet paper bag.

Bought a used softopper that was a couple years old in good shape. Very easy to install on vehicle and the fit and finish is great. You do need to use the screws at the front of the truck or else the front will flap. Once added the screws no more flapping. Just got done with a 1500 mile trip to Moab and slept in back of the truck several nights. Really am happy with this purchase and the versatility of this top.

I got the stopper for my (^ Ford Bronco to shed weight for racing. We podiumed the 2022 NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally, racing off-road more than 1,400 miles from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas, Baja MX. Just don't. Don't buy this product. I should have looked at the reviews before I purchased from them. They don't tell you anything about shipping dates until you've purchased. Then, after they so willingly take your money, they send an email saying your order is shipped and to allow 2-3 weeks for it to be shipped. You WILL NOT get it in 2-3 weeks. Don't waste your time. And you will not get in contact with customer service. Either through the phone or through email. This would be better if they were up front with their customers about shipping times and back orders etc. Take your money to their competitors and have your soft shell within a week and you'll also be able to get in contact with a representative. I am reaching out to my bank and reporting this as fraud. I have not received the product, you took my money and you will not contact me.

When you order you will receive message stating shipping in 2-3 weeks.When week 3 comes along you can call and email them....they will not answer the phone, they will not call you back, you will get no response(except an auto response email saying we will get ahold of you in a week...LOL)...save your money and get something else... and by the way....they will bill you immediately even though you have no idea of when you are really getting what you paid almost one thousand dollars for...maybe a great product...i have no idea...cant get an answer on when it coming....

I bought a Softopper for my '77 Ramcharger. I got tired of lifting the hard top off and on and wanted something that I could leave on when it rains but remove easily when the sun is out. The 6wk delivery turned into about 3wks...nice surprise. Unpackaging, all the parts were there, wrapped and protected from rubbing with easy to follow directions. I do have to disagree with the 1 hour installation time, however, I wasn't looking for a fast install. It took me about 3 hours which isn't bad considering most of these old trucks have had work done and there are no two the same. I also had to drill two holes in the rear to attach the box rails but overall it is a good fit and I am looking forward to sunny weather to roll up the sides and enjoy it.

First things first, I'm sure many of you are reading for info on delivery time. I received my topper after 8 weeks and it was well worth the wait. I received an email from Softtopper after about 4 or 5 weeks to say that delivery was delayed due to supply in material. After reading through the reviews, 8 weeks delivery time was about what I was expecting anyway. ***Note to Softopper; your quality is top notch and I believe you would see a major boost in your rating to reflect it's quality if you simply upped the stated delivery time on your website.***As for the topper itself, the material is top quality. Install is quick and easy after watching their how-to video. I chose the Softtopper over a hard shell for my 2001 Tundra because I need normal access to the bed when hauling my 4 wheeler and this works perfectly for that need. Lowering the topper and raising it in place again is simple. I was concerned about the snaps being at risk of tearing off with time, but it doesn't seem like that will be an issue because the snaps on either end are not overly stretched and those in between are not stretched at all to snap and unsnap. The fit is near perfect; the only issue is it only covers about half of the stake holes on the bed rail, which will allow a little water to leak through even if you have caps to cover the holes. (the caps aren't water tight) otherwise, there is no issue with the fit. My other curiosity was how well it would keep out dust from the dusty Owyhee desert roads and it did a great job at that as well. I'm very happy with my purchase, it's well worth the wait and I highly recommend it to anyone.

I've had a softopper on my 2004 Duramax for several years now. I'm still very happy with it. The topper has aged well. I chose white and it's not as white as it was when I got it, but the canvas is still in very good shape. It still keeps everything dry. It has held up to tens of thousands of highway miles, Severe freezing temperatures from Minnesota winters (teens below zero), Severe heat and sun from Southern Oregon summers (115+ degrees) and is still in very good shape.The one complaint I have is that the snaps could be spaced just a little bit further apart on the canvas. It was tight to install when it was new, but as it has aged it has become very difficult to get the last couple snaps snapped. The first few are easy. The next couple can be done with a ratchet strap to pull it tighter. The last couple require two strong adults and the ratchet strap all working together. My personal opinion is that any looseness when it's new would be a tiny unproblematic sacrifice to be able to still put it on as it ages.

Purchased a SoftTopper for my truck, liked the idea of a lightweight, foldable camper shell. Quality of the product seemed good, straight seams, nice tight fit.... then the problems began.Had a couple snaps that hold the fabric to the base rails break after a couple months, easy enough to replace those.Got into a wind storm up in Wyoming, 40 mph cross wind is not unusual for that area of Wyoming. As I drove down the highway I noticed my topper was being pushed down a little bit by the cross wind but seemed to be doing OK. Next thing I know the back fabric of the shell is flapping around wildly. I pulled off the interstate and found the back 1/3 of the fabric totally destroyed from flapping in the wind.I have attempted to contact SofTopper customer service 5 times over the last month to see if this is a know problem. Cannot get any response from the email support and have placed several voicemail messages without any response. If you call to place any order you can get right through but if you have an issue apparently "non-response" is the norm.I got 14 months use out of a $800 topper that is now totally worthless. If you go anywhere that has high winds, I would not recommend a SofTopper.5/2/22 Update. I finally got through to a customer service representative. I was able to get a replacement canopy from SofTopper at no charge to me, they even paid the shipping. I'm very happy with the help and resolution I received from the company once I was able to connect with a representative. It is unfortunate they have not been able to fully restore customer service response times since the pandemic hit but I do think they are awesome at standing behind their products.

Waited almost 8 months before reviewing but this thing is legit! Tight as a drum going 80 on the interstate and keeps the bed dry in all weather. There is some dust that gets in but through an entire hunting and ice fishing season kept everything dry. Will remove for the summer and put back on in the fall. Even spent a night back there when it was raining and we arrived at camp spot after dark. Highly recommended and would definitely replace if it was damaged

I live in Hawaii and expected my Softopper to arrive in 4-6 weeks. I came home the other day to a surprise. I received my softopper in exactly 2 weeks as promised. While I cannot comment on the quality just yet, I can comment on the customer service. There really isn’t any. The web page will tell you 2-3 weeks for delivery. Your payment will go through and you will receive an immediate email reply telling you your payment has been made and to expect 2-3 weeks for the product to arrive. An hour or two later and you will receive a very exciting email telling you that your order has shipped! Don’t be fooled. None of these things is true. The 2-3 weeks……..well, let’s just say that I have been waiting for 8 1/2 weeks now. If you attempt to call, email, or reach Softopper via social media, you will be lucky to get a response. After looking at the last years worth of bad reviews, it appears this response is the exact response they have been giving for a year now and nothing has changed. Finally, I did receive an email back to my inquiry on 3/16 and it said I would see the product mid April. That's a far cry from the 2-3 weeks as advertised. It is now past the Mid-April Timeframe and still no topper and no additional updates. It would be understandable if due to worker shortages, sickness, material shortages, or storms that the lead times would get longer. However, the complete lack of transparency on their website and social media sites comes across as borderline unethical. So, if you are deciding to make a purchase, do so knowing you will know nothing, hear nothing, and will be left in the dark as to when and if your 100% paid for product will ever arrive. After all of this, I really hope the Topper is everything and more that I have heard it to be. I really want to like this company and their product but, so far, the company's lack of transparency & communication is making me very nervous. I will update this as soon as I know more. Hopefully, I can give a few more stars based on quality alone.If you can send auto emails telling customers their payment is received, why can't that same system send out automated updates?

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!! Terrible customer service shop elsewhere I ordered my soft topper a month ago and it came but clamps don’t work at all. So I call them and it takes a week for them to call me back. Once they do talk to me they said I can just drill holes in the rails and they will send me bolts. Well a week later the bolts they send aren’t even long enough to go through the rails.

This thing is great! Just recently installed on my Tacoma 60 inch bed. Looks fantastic it has held up great so far. Plan on putting this thing to much use. I do wish the tent attachment was more reasonably priced. @softopper, message me if you feel like cutting that attachment a deal.Should omit the 1stars complaining about shipping, thats bbb business. The product itself is good stuff and seems quality. Warned my wife about the shipping madness and lack of communication. So she ordered with plenty of time and prep. Let them charge the card and said a prayer to whatever god was listening. And one day it showed up! Just before christmas in fact! Great product. Not alot of communication. Hope I don't run into issues.

ZERO STARS!!! I ordered my softopper on January 28, 2022, and after a week and a half I hadn't received the topper so I called. When I called the customer service representative told me that my topper wouldn't be delivered until sometime between March 4- 12 because they had gotten behind because COVID had run through their shop, understandable. I called back today March 7 to check on the status and was immediately told that it would be another 1-2 weeks, this time because they were moving. When I told the representative that I was told the topper would be delivered by the 12th they quickly changed their story to "it's being shipped in from our other shop" and to check back on Thursday the 11th to see if there is a tracking number. At NO TIME during this ordeal have I received an email saying my order was being delayed, NOT ONCE! The main reason I had chosen Softopper was for the customer service that I had seen rave reviews on, but I have yet to experience. I am very very disappointed in how this has gone thus far.

Love it!!! I replaced my 2 year old Tonneau cover last summer with the softopper on my 2006 Tundra and have not looked back. It is just awesome. I have it up all the time and when I need extra height just fold it back real quick. It has weathered the extreme cold, snow, rain and high winds of Wisconsin with no issues. The only draw backs I see is that if you don't want anything potentially stolen from the back you will need to have a lock box. Also your not suppose to go through car washes that use a touch wash system. I have had hard tops and tonneau covers. The softtopper is just so much better and more versatile. Product looks decent but customer service and communication is terrible! Topper received as wrong color and some damage. Trying to get customer service was a nightmare. Finally got through and the lady I spoke with was rude and condescending. She told me that I would need to send pictures of damage for a return label. Which is understandable like most do. But after that she told me I would not receive any conformation that the old topper was received nor the new one was being made or shipped back. Also it would take 3 weeks for new topper to be made but from when? Should have listen to all the other reviews about customer service......

As of today (11/20/21) it has been 5 weeks since I ordered a top for my Silverado. I knew they were giving estimates of 3-5 weeks ship time when I ordered it and I was fine with that. At this point though, I would really appreciate an update on what is going on with my order. I haven't heard from them since they eagerly accepted my money!Update: I received my top about 7 or 8 weeks after I ordered it. I love my top, looks good, easy to install and easy to use. My only complaint is about the lack of customer service. If there are going to be delays, then it should be their responsibility to notify the customer and not leave them in the dark.

My wife bought one for my 72 Blazer, when she ordered it, it was 5 to 7 weeks backordered. Showed up 4 days later, Haven't put on yet but inventoried it and all parts are there. Will be installing shortly, need the weather to warm up a little more, expect it to be perfect.

Well I have owned my Softopper since 2007 when I purchased it for my 2005 Tundra. Recently checked out the site and saw how far along it has come since 2007 - I thought it was about time I reviewed my purchase. We used the Softopper to protect our gear when we traveled cross country and back in 2007. I have been using it regularly since. It is a breeze to install and remove - so I remove it between trips for other truck type work where I don't need it. I can't say enough about the quality and performance of the product. Very very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone wanting to avoid the cost, mounting hassle and limited function of a hardtop. Only issues are the squishy gaskets/adhesive under the rails that don't hold up well in the extreme heat but pretty minor issue in my view. Probably resolved by now. Do it!

***buyer beware*** Softopper will sell you a top and charge your credit card and then send you a tracking number as if it's on the way! Then, if you can get through to customer service, they will advise it is on backorder for up to 5 weeks. I had this happen a few months ago and I advised the customer service rep that it would be really nice and fair to let customers know the product is backordered prior to finalizing their order. I ordered a top again last week and got the exact same tracking number email only to find out it will not ship for up to five weeks. Customer service will tell you that they will return your call or email within 3-4 days. I have left both voicemails and emails over a week ago and you guessed it, no return call as of this review. They make a great product; however, their sales tactic by not informing the customer of the backorder status prior to payment is WRONG!

These folks will not answer or return phone calls. I need the Softopper by a certain date and was not notified of a back order till I ordered it. When I tried to contact them about maybe a color change or something absolutely zero response from them. I canceled the order it took them 7 days to respond and that was by email I find it hard to believe 4.6 stars.

Zero complaints. So versatile. One year in. 2018 Silverado. Wife and I installed this in less than an hour. It does not leak. I can lower it and boot it in about 10 minutes and raise it even faster. Very satisfied.

How to Prepare:

Confirm that your product number is correct, arrives as scheduled, and appears ready for installation
Softopper tops should be installed in a warm environment (ideally around or above 72 degrees Fahrenheit). Bring the cover indoors the night before the installation. The fabric will warm up and be more pliable.
Remove any aftermarket accessories or contents in the truck bed
Make sure the vehicle can be accessed from all sides
Have a person 18 years or older present for the entire On-Site Service appointment
As a courtesy, and if applicable, inform your Technician of special parking requirements, such as any no-parking days for street sweeping
For their safety (and for the Technician’s safety), secure any pets away from the On-Site Service Location
